Executive Coaching & NED – case study

I am Peter Kiddle and I was approached to take on the Chairman role of this major training business that was firstly going through a very difficult trading period and secondly looking to implement a MBO. This was a two year assignment requiring me to return the business to good profitability and at the same time groom the two key individuals within the management team to be able to take on the joint MD's roles.

These two individuals had no previous Director or shareholding experience; they are now Board Directors (joint MD's) and between them own 80% of the business. I arranged all necessary finance so that these two individuals could realise their ambitions.

The business is now trading well and producing good profits.

At the time my assignment commenced staff morale was suffering and new client acquisition was poor; the problems were so severe that I remained as Chairman and MD for some time running the business whilst I organised the MBO.

The key to the success of this assignment was the time devoted to Executive Coaching whilst having a sound understanding of, and working within, the business. The two key individuals, finance director and key staff are competent, motivated and were very responsive to the support and help I provided; it was a pleasure to work with them.

The training business continues to flourish today, has repaid all external debt and has returned to its position as a leading training business in the UK market.
